Privacy Policy

Colton Residents Directory collects little information directly. It is a private reference to public rolls, records, and historical collections in Colton, California, and it does not require an account or store a resident record about a reader. This policy explains what may pass through a search form, what ordinary hosting logs contain, how outside portals are governed, and which California privacy rules may apply.

Information You Send

A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Colton Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search terms on its own servers. If you contact the operators, the message contains whatever information you choose to include, and it is used to respond or handle the request.

Ordinary Technical Logs

The hosting service may record an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring information, and timestamps. These logs support security, basic performance checks, and aggregate page-use measurement. Cookies or similar tools may be used for limited analytics or, where present, advertising measurement. The site does not use those logs to create a personal profile of a Colton resident.

How Information Is Used

Information is used to operate the pages, diagnose failures, understand aggregate traffic, improve explanations, and answer messages. Colton Residents Directory does not sell a visitor list or build individual dossiers from the reference pages.

Outside Portals and Links

The pages link to San Bernardino County ARC, Colton municipal services, California elections and vital-record resources, courts, libraries, archives, and third-party search tools. Once a link is followed, that provider's privacy statement and terms control the information submitted there. Sponsored search results are supplied by a separate company and are governed by its own practices.

Who Receives Information

Hosting and technical service providers may process server logs to keep the site running. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the limited automatic data described above. Information is disclosed when a valid legal process requires it, or when needed to protect the service and comply with law.

Security and Retention

The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes that require them. There are no user accounts here, so Colton Residents Directory does not hold a site password or account profile that can be exposed.

People Under 18

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from someone under 18. If a minor has sent information through the contact route, notify us so the material can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

Your California Privacy Rights

California's Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, is codified at Civil Code sections 1798.100 through 1798.199.100. Depending on coverage and exceptions, it can provide rights to know, access, correct, delete, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and opt out of sale or sharing. The Delete Act, Senate Bill 362, created a one-stop deletion mechanism administered by the California Privacy Protection Agency, subject to its requirements and phases.

Because this service stores very little, a request normally means checking the contact mailbox and relevant server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by California, San Bernardino County, or the City of Colton are outside this service's control. Requests about an ARC, court, voter, vital, or municipal record must go to that custodian under its own law and process, including the California Public Records Act in Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000 where applicable.

Policy Changes

Updates will be posted on this page with the revised wording. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the current policy.
